I've put up a post on Cloudy Nights with my attempts at Jupiter: https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/843778-jupiter-2022-09-29-first-attempts/

I've got a long way to go to get anywhere near the awesome images being posted here, CN and elsewhere...

Great first attempt well done!! Planetary imaging is very much an opportunistic endeavour with results so dependant on the atmospheric conditions. So make sure you’ve got optimal collimation and focus dialled in to take advantage of those moments of good seeing.

Nice first captures Chris. As you say, with the weather this year, you've got to grab your opportunities when you can. But a better night will make life much easier. The FAQ info on CN is a great resource.

Thanks.

I think I've got the collimation close, but I probably should recheck it to be sure.

As for focus, I've got a nightcrawler on the scope to move it electronically. However, with Jupiter moving around so much due to the atmosphere, it was difficult to see how good the focus was. Part of the learning process I guess, and hopefully if I get better nights I'll get the focus better (and perhaps it'll be easier too).

Chris can you please also post your Jupiter photo in this thread too.

Thanks.

Ok, but the size restrictions on IIS make it a bit annoying.
