I found an old documentary film about a solar eclipse, from 1914, over hundred years old ! It is filmed in Sweden at Sollefteċ and Stockholm. It looked a bit strange at some places and I did an analyze of it. Added some simulations with the CdC software.
Here it is and with a link to the solar eclipse documentary:

Hi Lars
Thanks for posting, an interesting historic insight to the times and the solar eclipse, to have found film of the event is a great find. Have to agree , that the sunspot you mentioned is real, not an blemish on the film.
Coincidently, today I was reading an article about the 100 year anniversary , with a few pictures , of a total eclipse that was visible from the north west coast of Australia. What was notable about the eclipse is that it was one of the first eclipses that tested Einstein's Theory of Relativity by measuring the position of stars visible near the Sun and that the light was being curved by the Suns gravity.
If I can find the article again I'll try and post a link.

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the link, it's so interesting with these early documents of how they did it before our modern technology.

I have updated the page about the 1914 solar eclipse. I found a photo of the instrument they used in their research, an impressive one. The film camera must be some other.
Note: I have to move it to another location, the new address:

Anyone of you that have found any reports about this 1914 solar eclipse in your country ?

Hi Lars
I think nothing much will be found down under, as neither of the solar eclipses were visible here.
The screenshot is from here (https://nla.gov.au/nla.obj-3001133826/view?sectionId=nla.obj-3017675379&partId=nla.obj-3001191289#page/n52/mode/1up)

You are correct, you were too far away, not even a partial eclipse.

When were your latest total eclipse ?

Hello Lars
In answer to your question about recent and future Total Solar Eclipses. So far this century we have had 2, 2002 and 2012 , with another due next year and 2028, 2030, 2037 and 2038.

Hope the links work. The NASA website had good interactive maps of all the eclipses but currently is not working with Google Maps. I did witness the 2002 Ceduna eclipse and will never forget the experience, though brief at 30 seconds of totality. Am really looking forward to the 22/7/2028 eclipse, wont even have to leave home to see it, clouds permitting, though moving closer to the centreline will provide a longer period of totality.
Next years Total / Hybrid eclipse is on the other side of the country for me, 4000 km away and more effort to get to than I would be prepared to expend.
Cheers

Hi,
What many of them you have, but Australia is much bigger than Sweden.
The one you have close to you, how do you plan to observe/photograph it ?
Heavens Above was a nice page, I saved its link. Thanks!
ps.
I have asked my friends if they have memories of our last total solar eclipse 1954, or if they remember if their parents/grandparents talked about the older ones 1914, 1927, 1945 or 1954.
I adding the answers at the bottom of the page:
