Around 5.5 hours of 3 minute exposures with darks, flats and bias stacked in DSS, processed in Startools.

Bit noisy but I guess that's a limitation of using a DSLR.

Looking at the histogram in Astrophotography Tool, all the channels are way to the left, with the red channel being clipped a bit. I suspect that's to do with the long focal length of this scope and using an unmodded DSLR?

I'm happy with the result.

Alex, the end result is not always what we want, but just getting out there and enjoy it is what it's all about.

I learnt something new today also.
I didn't know the galaxy had a Sting in the
tail to go with it's pearls. ;)

Looks good, Mark.

I'd hazard a guess that the poor red / Ha response of the DSLR will be causing the clipped red channel.

Nice one Mark. I too find the data acquisition the funnest part. I like to use the DSS live stack as they subs roll in.
