Today was back to the standard dodge the cloud scenario of recent times. Only just managed to grab the full disk and then set up for close ups. We only got a single close up image before the clouds stopped play. The close up is of the very large proms in the south east, shown with an Earth for scale. The image was taken rotated 90 degrees.
Full disk Ha image taken with Daystar Solar Scout 60 double stacked with Lunt 40 etalon, ASI178MM camera and 0.5 reducer.
Close up Ha image taken with 72ED, Solar Scout Quark and ASI178MM.

Thanks Marc.
It took a bit of a search to find the Aussie globe.

You certainly don't miss many opportunities - day or night. Great images of our closest star, plenty of interesting things going on there. Luckily you got some shots in before the rainy weekend!

Thanks Michael. The sun has been very active and impressive recently with lots to continue to observe and image. You are certainly correct about our wonderful weather. La Nina necessitates desperate observing measures - grab every chance you can :)
