Hi all,

I thought I'd add my version of M8 to the many fine images below on this page. A wise man (Marcus), recently said on this forum "there's always SOMETHING wrong with an image!" & this is no exception I'm sure.
I've tried to avoid the urge to expose every ounce of background detail which in my view leads to unnatural brightness & steer clear of the all too common salmon pink hues associated with M8.
By using the work of some well known astrophotographers as a reference my aim was to deliver a more realistic image in terms of lighting & colour.
Having said that I've probably pushed the envelope with the saturation :). I'd welcome your comments & opinions & thanks for looking.

Cheers,
Tony

Yes, overall a good looking Lagoon, rich colours, maybe a little darker and less "deep" than is traditional these days but it still looks good

Only suggestion I'd make is, the purple tinged-dark grey areas, around the central bright regions, look just a little odd to me :confuse3: you might like to consider putting some subtle pinky-magenta back into them..?

Thank you Marc, hopefully the updated version is an improvement. :)

Hi Mike, thanks very much for this feedback. For quite a while now I've noticed a distinct difference between my 'finished' images as displayed in Photoshop compared to how they look on my desktop.
Your comments prompted me to explore the colour settings in Ps & I think I've solved the issue. Hopefully the updated image reflects your suggestions. I updated the Astrobin link also.
Cheers,
Tony
