NGC 6744/Caldwell 101 taken in the southern Flinders Ranges in SA. Not great conditions so only managed about 8 hours luminance and 3hours RGB between clouds. RC8 and ZWO 294MM on a Mach1.

I was not happy with a previous attempt at this years ago, as it was dominated by stars. But a bit of judicious star reduction this time helped I think.

Awesome shot Paul. You've got some other interesting background galaxies as well in the field with some structure. One for the poolroom.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

That's a ripper 6744.

Yes stars in 6744 are often a bit dominating so you have handled that well.

Greg.

Beautiful image !!
So clean with superb resolution and detail in the core and spiral arms
Star field is excellent, not too busy or too bright
10/10
Well done !!
I’m assuming nice dark skies ? Bortle 2 or 3 ?

Thanks very much, Martin. I'd say Bortle 1 skies. At Bendleby Ranges in South Australia.
