Hi all,
Just picked up a new 8" LX90 from Bintel today :D so the cloudy skies over Sydney is my fault (actually decided to buy yesterday so that's why it started to cloud over then). Although Michael at Bintel has to shoulder some of the blame as his excellent sales skills helped me get the green light from the wife.
So how long does it take for the skies to clear after a purchase?
Cheers,
Greg

Greg that is wonderful news, thanks for sharing. Michael is a very nice fellow and helps folk realise their dreams..like all professional salespeople.
How long for the sky to clear not long for he full Moon but it could be a while for the dark end to show itself.
Good luck with getting to first light...when I looked out this morning I knew someone had bought something.

Congratulations on the new scope!
The amount of cloud is directly proportional to the amount of money you spent divided by your overall disposable income...
As long as we get some rain in the catchment areas then you will be forgiven.
Enjoy!

Thanks for the understanding guys. Alex you're spot on - Michael as well as the whole team at Bintel are great (as many have said before) and take the time to understand what you want to do and advise what you need.
Weather reports for the weekend are starting to look a bit more promising. Fingers crossed.
Cheers,
Greg
Congrats on the new scope Greg, your cloud has made it all the way down here

usually the way to get rid of the cloud is to sacrifice a telescope in the light of the full moon... :)

Excellent news Greg! (the scope... not the clouds)
We hope to see some photos of it next to its proud new owner.
Cheers!

Don't think my wife would speak to me again if I sacrifice the scope to clear the cloud so I think we'll all have to tough it out here in Sydney.
I did see Jupiter appear from the cloud from time to time last night so I set it up and had a look. Even with the crappy conditions it still got a wow from me so I'm definitely looking forward to some clearer skies. Definitely an improvement over my old 5". :)
Chris - No worries. Will work on a photo. I'm not much of a poser for photos but my wife is pretty sneaky with the camera so if she catches me with the thing I'll post it.
Cheers,
Greg
