Hi all,

I've been busy with other things and of course the weather hasn't been that great so it has taken me a while to finish this project.

This is a Ha/RGB blend with the Ha taken through an Antlia dual-band filter and the RGB just unfiltered OSC.
The scope was a MN190 and the camera a ZWO 2600MC. Whilst I also had some OIII it was pretty thin and didn't really add much, if anything, to the final image so I ended up leaving it out.
The final image is 4 hrs of Ha (captured in late June) and 4 hrs of RGB (captured in late July) for a total of 8 hours under Bortle 7 skies.

Higher res version available here: Astrobin NGC 6559 / IC 4685 (https://www.astrobin.com/full/rypx3r/0/?mod=&real=)

Comments/critiques always welcome,
Pete. :)

That’s a really nice image of a great target with good resolution and fine detail under light polluted skies
I think it’s more of a broadband target but you’ve done well to keep the colour “natural”
Well done !
Ive just purchased the Antlia dual band for my 2600MC and just finished 5hrs on the Helix under Bortle 7/8 skies , can’t wait to process it
From what I’ve seen the Antlia produces less halo around the medium to larger stars than my existing L Extreme plus a slightly tighter bandpass at 5nm

Cheers
Martin

Thanks Martin!

I saw your Helix post - looks great
Yeah I think the Antlia is a winner. You're right about this object being mostly broadband but the Ha fills it out a bit I think.

Thanks Peter,

Appreciate your comment.

very nice! that antlia filter looks solid - good detail and limited reflections. the 2600 / 190mn looks like a nice combo too in terms of scale, framing!

Thanks Adam!

The Ha ended up only making a modest contribution to the final image this time.
Although I'm slightly oversampled, I think the combo works well.

Much appreciated Dave! :)
