Here is the last of the Jupiter images from last Sunday night. After this AVI there was more cloud than clear sky so we gave up.

Toucam on 12.5" F6 Dob with a 2x barlow.

Nice work, Andrew.

Is this larger than your usual image scale?

Wow Andrew, that's probably one of the best Jupiter's I've seen from a dob without tracking!

Marvellous!

Yes it is. This image was taken with astro_south's Dob (12.5" F6)

We used a 2x barlow in his 12.5" which is equivalent to using a 3x barlow in my 8" Dob. I usually shoot with a 2x barlow on the 8", so this image is 50% larger than my usual work. :D

Thanks. If only it was my Dob. It was a lot easier with two people doing the work. astro_south was steering his Dob while I controlled the laptop. Actually I shouldn't say 'easier', I should say it was slightly less frustrating with two people. :)

Andrew

How many frames did you stack for this one? Great job processing by the way.

Can't remember the exact number because I stacked so many AVIs on the weekend. I do know it wasn't more than 100.

My best results seem to come from a stack in the range of 200-240 frames.

However, that is very dependant upon the quality of the frames.
