This shot is going back a bit. Planet season for me is mostly a visual pursuit - but once my eyes have had their fill I'll put the camera on if the conditions hold up. On this night I could literally see a mist/fog rolling in during the capture so I hadn't thought much of the data and resolved to do better around opposition.
Well, it's a month later and I'm still yet to have decent conditions for more than a few minutes at a time, so decided to try and process the old data anyway... Seemed to scrub up ok so thought it worth sharing

Thanks very much! Yes it’s been trying- I was out again last night and had lovely views with the c14 at approx 400x, after 30min I went inside and got the camera and came back out to nothing but cloud! An hour later it cleared up but the seeing had deteriorated, Sigh…

I like that shot, it's something like I'm hoping to achieve.
Dave, it sounds like you and I had a similar night of it, in two very different locations.

Thanks Joe & Warren- I’m super rusty right now with my planetary processing too so I’m glad it came out ok!

Looks very good to me. I think you planetary guys are in a league of your own, and I'll stick to DSOs.

Thanks Steve…Lol it certainly is a different approach and much more dependant on sky and atmospheric conditions when you’re shooting at 8000mm- but I love the fact you can do planetary imaging on a full moon from the suburbs! I’ve had the c14 targeting dso s for most of this year waiting for the planets to come round so it’s good to finally get it going on what it’s really made for!
