Working on this one has been a long journey.
The Helix is one of those targets that no amount of data is enough.

Here is an essay about how many subs is enough (some light reading).

LRGB: So far I have gathered 290 X 5m subs => 24hrs

And intend to keep going.

This image is a marking point, and you have to enjoy the journey :)

Nice Helix PK
Just some sharpening to contrast the iris and it’s a winner !!
I reckon once you’ve well exposed the eyebrow , any more data is just the “fluff”.
Keep going by all means , mammoth effort !!

It’s well placed early on at present , so just need some bloody clear nights

Cheers

Good grief... 24 hours?!?! Well done, Peter.

You're dead right though. It needs so much integration.

Beautiful result.

Fantastic effort Peter - that's turned out great! Beautiful colour and really extended nebulosity. I agree with Martin I reckon there's some detail in the core to be revealed perhaps with some further processing - but also I found this 'retina detail' comes out quicker in narrowband on this target...

Thanks Dave, Adam for reply.

M...I want to look into the eye of God.

I reckon this is a portal into another dimension :)

Hmm…. I wonder what’s behind the eye ?

The 4th Dimension ?

Keep going then ………

With 24 hours I reckon you can pull out more data mate it's really looking good.
If you use an HA filter you will really get that faint nebulosity that's there.
