This Winter, the weather on the east coast is so unpredictable / changeable you just have to go for it and capture what you can, otherwise your rig will never get used. Unlike last year where I did plenty of all nighters throughout Winter
Spent 2 nights this week capturing M20 between the clouds and managed only 104 x 2 min usable subs out of 142 captured
Sydney Bortle 7/8 ( thankfully new moon period )
Atmospheric conditions good
6” f6 GSO Newt
EQ6-R Pro mount
ZWO 2600MC cooled to -10C Gain 100 LRN
No filter ( just internal UV/ IR cut )
TS GPU coma corrector
104 x 2 min dithered guided subs
40 x Flats
60 x Bias
EQMOD, Stellarium, APT
PHD2 Multistar guiding ( 0.50 to 0.60 arc sec total ) really nice conditions
Stacked in DSS
Processed in Startools V1.7 OSC linear data set
Comments most welcome
Thanks

lovely rich field captured there, Martin! Beautiful star colours.
I think you need an astrobin account or another website where you can post larger resolution images so we can really look at the details your newts bring in :)

Great work Martin. Beautiful colours and contrast.
I agree- the conditions have been very difficult- such little useful data per night- so I think you’ve done really well mate!
That's a 9/10 from me.
Well done M

Thanks Adam,
Startools is excellent with broadband data, really accentuates correct Star colour in these types of Nebs and also Globs
Probably should open up an Astrobin account like you mentioned

Still playing around with this data today
It’s worth having a second or third go at it , you always find little improvements
Cheers

Thanks Greg,
Yep good data, although a limited amount , still enables you to produce a half decent image

Come on Martin that image must be with the new 10 inch taken down the South Coast ....well honestly you could have said it was and your fine image would be consistent with your dark site and big rig...more so because I expect your seeing would be limited and not too flash even when clear.
Great colours.

Thanks Alex
Appreciate the kind comments
The skies in Sydney are are struggle but fortunately over these 2 nights my neighbours didn’t have their “ Las Vegas” flood lights blasting my yard, that helps immensely.
That little old $200 banged up 6” Newt just does the job, although I can’t wait to get back down south and use the 10” under Bortle 3 skies again
Here’s a Crop of the same image which might look like what the 10” can do ( maybe ?? )
Cheers
Martin
