I have an ES ed80 triplet refractor paired with 533mc pro + oag. I'm getting egg shaped stars at the edges on the top half of my image.
Is this a symptom of no flattener?

I have been trying to work out what type of flattener I can use that won't cost me half the price I paid for the scope. Bintel said they have nothing for me and I was wondering if anybody else tried one with any success? I would actually prefer a reducer/flattener to widen my FOV to compensate for the small sesnor ony camera.

This one appears to be ok, but I'm not sure.

Hi,

The egg-shaped stars aren't caused by camera tilt, is it? (Note that I have no idea about dedicated astro cameras; being a DSLR+scope person.)

Cheers,
V

No I don't believe so. Regardless of that, I still want to purchase a reducer/flattener to improve my POV.
