Selling my First surface mirror rig, for binoculars.
No more sore neck, arm strain, or shaky views.
This idea has been around for some time, but for the best results, a custom build is required.
My version is comprised of a 340x160mm first surface(also known as front surface mirror)
optically flat mirror with enhanced coatings. I sourced this mirror from Vacuum Coatings Scientific Mirrors in the UK.

This mirror is able to be used with any binocular up to 20x80. I used it first with a pair of Nikon 18x70's, then a pair of Swarovski 15x56 SLC, and now with my Canon 10x42L IS.The better the glass, the better the view.
The other pair in these photo's, are 20x60's.

The fluid head is a Manfrotto 501HDV. No longer made, but perfect for this application. Can take a 6kg payload. The arm is fully adjustable, allowing both the mirror and binoculars to move independently. Can be disassembled to facilitate easy transportation, and storage.

Combining the pan and tilt movement of the fluid head, with an adjustable camera tripod, you are able to cruise the Milky Way in comfort. Either standing, or sitting.

The sale comprises Sky mirror, with housing, Manfrotto 501HDV fluid head,(mounts to any camera tripod) 400mm adjustable arm, with quick release plate. All that is shown in the last photo, except the tripod.

$500.00 plus postage.
