73 x 130 sec OSC subs from a ASI294MC pro
AstroTech AT72EDII with a Williams Optics 73A flattener.

Its the first time I've used the AT72 and the WO flattener and after adjusting the backfocus, I was stunned by the nice round stars in the corners. I never could get this with my Orion flattener.

Also I'm starting to get comfortable with pixinsight and processing nebulas, at last.

The images is a full frame, no cropping, and I've included the pixinsight AberrationInspector mosaic (just because I'm so happy the WO flattener worked.)

I had to go to 25% quality when converting to jpg to get the file size down so, annoyingly, there is quite a bit of posterization of the image. Is there any way around this?

Lovely shot! Well framed and beautiful dusty detail in the shadows. Well done!
Yes unfortunately small jpgs really don’t give justice to most astro photos, especially widefields! I’m not aware of any workaround except for posting a link to a larger version. Plenty of free options such as Dropbox or OneDrive.

Very nice image and I suspect using that AberrationInspector, with that scope, could become addictive :P......bit like watching the real time star centroid autoguide plot with my AP1600GTO, witnessing perfection can be truly joyful

Hi Chris.

A great result and well done

When uploading to IIS, the server will take a file up to about 1.2Mbyte and then down size it for you. Mostly it does a good job :)

I'll give it a try with an image I took 2 days ago. I never shared it here because when I tried to compress it below 200kb for upload, it looked like it was shot through a shower screen.

I'll try again with it compressed to 1.17Mb.

Nice! it picks up noticeable noise in the background, that the original doesn't have, but it's way better than I expected.

Thanks for the tip

Great image!
I use the “Image Size” app on my phone which is free and very good for resizing
