Hey guys,
I have really wanted to shoot this this image. I remember looking at this early in my astrophotography journey on this website and thinking I could never do that. So so satisfying.
Only one night's worth due to this annoying Melb weather.
Critiques welcome and needed.
Cheers,

Dilshan,
That’s a great first light on M16
Some nice contrast and detail ( maybe a tad more colour saturation ? )
Well done indeed !!
I suppose as a early beginner this object looked a bit intimidating for you but even using a stock DSLR and a small scope one can expose most of the central and core region including detail on the pillars.
You’ll never know until you try !!
Cheers

Hey Martin,
Now that you point it out, it does need some more saturation. I still struggle to work out how much is too much. The core was difficult to control. I used HDRmultiscale transform in pixinsight.
Thanks for the advice. With my backyard, this monochrome is so much more forgiving that the dslr. Need to go to a dark site and try dslr out there.
Thanks for the feedback.
Kind regards,
Dilshan
