The huge filament (now filaprom) has reached the Western limb. A bitter sweet solar astronomy day. Bitter that there were clouds all day (see picture) but sweet that at one moment there were only high clouds that were thin enough to image through. We only had to increase our gain a bit over 6% at the best moment, so not too bad.
We did get to see the most northern part of the large filament get to the limb. Also there was a lot of other action including two new regions on the eastern limb, one of which had many small surge proms that made it look like a plant growing out of a hole. The filament that has hugged around AR3053 continues to stay put, a zig zag pattern has also appeared in this region and the other large northern filament has grown to a considerable length. It looks like the week of super filaments:)
