For sale is a clean example of the Type 1 Nagler with caps (no box).
Unfortunately one of the internal elements has a small chip off centre that happened during disassembly and cleaning.
Last night I tried it on Jupiter and the Moon with my Tele Vue Ranger. On Jupiter there was perhaps the slightest reflection if the planet was in a specific spot in the field but it was barely noticeable.
On the waxing gibbous Moon there was a small diffuse shadow corresponding to where the chip is. If I moved the Moon around the field it sometimes produced a small flare of light in a particular spot but mostly only the small shadow was visible. If observing along the terminator I could rotate the eyepiece so the shadow was in the dark part of the moon and couldn't be seen.
On deep sky I saw no issues.
I could live with the eyepiece as is but I'm fussy about these things so I'm offering it for sale at a reduced price and will try to find another one.
Asking $150 ono.
Enquiries by PM please.
