I did 2 versions of this on in HOO and the other in SHO using mono
channel from the Optolong L-extreme as a synthetic Sulphur channel
ZWO 294MC Pro
TS APO 130 reduced x0.75
10 hours of 300 and 600 second subs
ZWO asiair
Skywatcher NEq6 Mount
Astropixel processor for channel separation and stacking
Photoshop
Astrobin for SHO (https://www.astrobin.com/xw791p/)
Nice work, Nik, on both of them.
These filters are almost making mono narrowband obselete! :eyepop:

Amazing images mate. Not sure I’ve ever seen such NB detail pulled from an OSC before. Someday I’ll attempt it myself…someday… Until then I’ll just enjoy your work!

Thanks Dave
Heaps of youtube tutorials outlining the process, it's taken me months to work out the process and still a long way to go.

Nicely done, I like the asthetics of the 2nd best, vibrance is gooderra and stars appear more natural plus the dust seems deeper, just my thoughts ...
Nice work on both though

Love the SHO but the first version does have a remarkable glow to it.

Hey Nik,
Love the colour and the signal depth. I recenty shot this target and did not get anywhere near the oxygen signal you have. Something to aspire to for sure. Can't pick which one I like more :).

Oxygen is very hard to work out so what I tend to do is really stretch the oxygen channel first before combining with the Ha as that tends to help bring it out, I've been experimenting how the last few days and it is starting to pay dividends. Working with an OSC and the dual band filters has its challenges that's for sure.

Good tip. Will try that with the oxygen channel next time.
Cheers,
