My first attempt at capturing this famous nebula last year.
Celestron SuperC8 (1980s) with a reducer on Celestron AVX and ZWO camera OSC.
Waiting patiently for another chance this year (weather) with a zoom lens (which I dropped and broke the front lens:( ) to capture the surrounding and frame it better.

Fantastic shot. I only recently learned that the "Pillars of Creation" (dead center in the nebula) is actually a gas formation part of the Eagle Nebula. I always thought the two were separate.

Same here, I didn't know Pillars of Creation famous from Hubble Space Telescope was in the Eagle nebula. I was shooting any nebula I found in the Milky Way. Last winter was memorable as I got Trifid and Lagoon.

Love the image, Anthony. Well done.
And commiserations on the dropping of the lens. That must have hurt. :-(

Very nice image, Anthony. As seems to happen a lot after I read through this forum, your image inspired me to give M16 a go too - thanks! Alex

Thanks Steve, it was a brand new lens I was setting up on my EQ mount at night. Should have done so in daylight and now have rubber mat on the pavement.
