I thought I would have a crack at the sun.

I cant for the life of me, get focus perfect on anything, day or night.

Grrr.... I think its the scope. It has to be. I've done everything right (I think) but still it eludes me.

Ah well, perseverance

Baz.:D

Nice go though, Baz. Try dropping your gain and slowing your exposure rate and see how you go. I gather you are using a ToUcam and K3CCDTools? Also what is your brightness level?

Don't know what sort of conditions you've been imaging in, Baz, but anything less than fair-good seeing will make it very hard for you to achieve a sharp focus.

Tube currents, mirror temps etc will also make life just that little bit harder.

Keep at it, mate:thumbsup: And keep an eye on the jetstream maps and latest synoptic charts;)

Sorry guys, I have not gotten used to the format of putting image details in the posts. The image was a 1/125 sec at ISO 800. Prime focus through a C11
No processing.

I'd suggest you also try using the Mirror Lockup function on your DSLR Baz.
This will help keep the image sharp by minimising mirror slap.
