Captured M17 Omega Nebula on a beautiful clear Saturday night in Sydney
Haven’t captured this object in Sydney for at least 2 years so took advantage of a clear stable night , no dew until 3am , no moon and no neighbours lights blasting my yard.
Bortle 7/8
My trusty little 6” f6 Bintel GSO newt
Skywatcher EQ6-R pro mount
ZWOASI2600MC cooled to -10 , Gain 100 LRN
Optolong L Extreme filter
TS GPU coma corrector
89 x 3min dithered guided subs
40 x Flats
60 x Bias
EQMOD, Stellarium, APT
PHD2 Multistar guiding ( 0.50 to 0.65 arc sec total )
Stacked in DSS
Processed in Startools V1.7 OSC linear bi colour
Quite a lot of LP gradient to deal with but Startools does a great job mitigating it whilst maintaining signal
Synthetic Luminance version
SHO version ( colour matrix )
HOO version ( colour matrix )
Comments welcome as always
Thanks
