Hi all!
Selling my ZWO AS1600MC-Cool, Including its original USB-3 cable and 1.25" nosepiece.
Note, this is the OSC not the mono.
It's the perfect camera for a first-time dedicated Astro-cam user, or if you want a nice cheap second camera to stick on a second setup!
I bought this first hand a few years ago and have loved using it! Unfortuantely I'm moving overseas and have decided to just keep my mono instead :(
It's in perfect working condition, I even used it last month paired with a 100mm lens to get the below photo of Rho Oph and the Blue Horsehead!
I've attached a Master Dark (30*240s, gain 50, -15C), as you can see, there are no defects in the sensor, the "amp glow" is as expected for this sensor, and corrects out perfectly with dark calibration.
It's only ever been outside while imaging, otherwise been stored in its box inside. The only cosmetic issue is a small bit of rust on the rear fan cage. It's only surface deep and obviously doesn't affect performance at all, regardless I've attatched a close up photo. Otherwise it's in perfect condition, not a single scratch, and the desiccant tablets have been replaced.
I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think this OSC model suffers from the "microlensing" issue that the mono does, I've never seen the characteristic artifact in any of my images, even on extremely bright stars like Alnitak.
I've attached of a photo of Alnitak taken with the camera, I took this with a dual narrowband filter and just extracted the Red channel, that's why the image is greyscale.
