<P>Hi guys.</P>
<P>I've finally written a how-to guide for dob-based astrophotography. It's been something i've been meaning to write for a while now, and over the last few weeks i've finally finished it off.</P>
<P>You can get to the article from the <A href="http://www.iceinspace.com.au/?howto">IceInSpace How-To</A> page, or direct via this link:</P>
<P><A href="http://www.iceinspace.com.au/index.php?id=63,201,0,0,1,0">Astrophotography with a Dob</A></P>
<P>I hope it helps at least one of the many dob owners out there who want to dabble in astrophotography.</P>

Great article Mike. Thanks for the basics. Might just try it next viewing night. Whoops! forgot, I have to make up a camera/eyepiece bracket.

I agree, it is a brilliant piece of work. While I have always poked the brown stuff at Mike for his dob webcamming, I admire his tenacity, and also his forethought in writing this article. It will no doubt serve as a guide to others who want to try this. Well done Mike.

Hi Mike,
Just caught your article on Dob Imaging. Very Nice!
I believe the article was for undriven Dobs, but thought you might like to see what I've managed to do with a driven Dob. I've just started using a ST-10XME CCD camera with a 25" Dob, Pyxis Field De-Rotator and an AO-7. You can see some of the images at www.dansdobimaging.com .
Clear skies,

Hi Dan.
:welcome: to the forum! How did find out about the article? (market research :))
You're right, the article is for undriven dobs.. my latest (and best) Jupiter images using the webcam and undriven dob are here (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2185) and here (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2260).
I had a look at your website, very nice shots! I'm getting a tracking platform (not a servocat) in the next week or so, so i'm looking forward to trying some long exposure stuff too, but I don't have a DSLR or astro CCD camera - so my targets (and shots) will be limited.
I'll just be happy to have the planets and moon stay in the one spot, so hopefully those images will improve as a result :)
Thanks again!

Hi Mike,
Great images of Jupiter! The clarity and detail are tremendous.
Found your article when I did a search on www.yahoo.com for the string "dob imaging" (with the quotation marks). Yahoo returns only two hits and your article is the first one.
Keep up the great work!
Clear skies,
Dan
