Hi all,

I was going to add data to this one, but my new camera has since arrived, and therefore Melbourne will be under heavy clouds for the foreseeable future. This is my first ever “Fake Hubble” attempt and quite frankly have no idea what I am doing. However, I am overall pleased.

Exposure and saturation I feel are a tad on the heavy side, but I would appreciate your comments. Star shapes are quite poor as I don't have as many subs as I would like, so just used almost everything I had. For that reason and because of the dense star field, I have applied heavy star reduction. Noise is pretty bad also due to heavy stretching and saturation, but if I add data one day, hopefully that will fade away.

Tony, I appreciate the kind words but respectfully disagree that it puts your image to shame. It’s a different style and I really like your image with different colours and bigger stars. :thumbsup:

which program are you using to process your image?

Karl, I use Pixinsight mostly and Gimp for star reduction.

PixInsight is great to use and the control over images compared to APP or star tools..

That's a great looking image. As I commented on Karl's image, the restrained palette is, to my eyes, much better.

Thanks Steve. Actually, I’ve managed to finally squeeze in a combined 3h of imaging in the past two night. Early nights were clear before the clouds. I got to try out the camera, but will still be a while before the image is ready!
