Hi All,
Gem Cluster NGC 3293.
Took this one over the last three days. Lost some subs as the grub screw got loose on the EAF!
30 X 300 seconds Antlia 3.5nm SHO. ASI 183mm Esprit 100
Took a while to get the colours how I wanted. Hard to reproduce the same colours twice! Reminds me of the video format NTSC (never the same colour twice)!

That's a lot of nebulosity in there, and all with such delicate tracings of light and shadow. A lovely image.
Cheers,

Thats quite a different pallet you’ve chosen to go with. I like the detail in the nebulosity and how natural it looks. I do feel like that pallet has subdued the beautiful star colours in that cluster though. In an RGB version, that cluster stands out quite prominently on the Ha. That’s not to say I don’t like the image though, I do, it’s just an observation.
Cheers
Ryan
Thanks Ryan,
I agree. Once the moon goes away I'll use the OSC camera and hopefully add some colour to the cluster.

Interesting take! I like it! How'd you balance the nebulosity colour vs star colour?
Hi Adam,
That was a difficult one. I had to sacrifice the nebulosity colour a little to get the stars looking ‘white’. I used the colour balance adjustment in Affinity Photo. Also the SHO colour palate gave the background a pinky brown colour which I didn’t like and had to get rid of it using background removal tool.
