M16 - Eagle Nebula LRGB

Wish I had more time for this last night, but an early start meant I eventually had to get some sleep. But did manage a few hours on M16 after spending some time testing & configuring the imaging setup. Looking to add more data if the weather clears this week.

Lum - 30 x 3 minute, RGB - 6 x 5 minute each. Total integration: 3 hours.
Saxon 102mm F/7 triplet + x0.8 reducer/flattener (F/5.6)
ZWO ASI294MM Pro
DSS + Photoshop for processing.

I think I'm starting to get the hang of this mono imaging & loving the detail this camera can bring out.

Yes we all wish for more data

Just an observation over the past year or so , I notice a lot of folk ( both beginners and intermediates ) present their images the same night /early morning, instead of later that day or the following day/s
I know these ASI air thingy’s do it all on the spot ( stack and process ) but a lot of folk use traditional stacking and processing like me.
I always shut down , go to bed and process my images later the following day or the next day when I wasn’t so tired.
The last thing I want to do is sit behind a computer between midnight and 6am and process my data

Hey! I wasn't in that much of a rush - I actually had a few hours sleep before starting. :D
But I do get anxious to see 'quick' results most of the time. Maybe I can try to practice slowing down a little. :P
Next step is to learn to process the separate channels in StarTools & combine them.

I suppose anxiety gets the better of us and we want to see the fruits of our labours sooner than later
Nothing wrong with that at all , I’m retired so I’m not in a mad rush to process my data , no more 4.30am alarm clock !!
When using Startools, just stack your data using the recommended prerequisites , Open Startools, select Compose at the top , load your linear stacked fits files data set into the appropriate channels LRGB or for Narrowband Sii Ha Oiii , select your appropriate luminance colour preset and then select Keep then Linear and process as normal , when you hit the colour module everything is set for you to adjust your colour to taste

All I can say is Wow what an image !!!

I’m a Startools tragic , it just works even with poor data , with good data and plenty of it , it’s unbelievable
