Hi guys

Time on this was cut short due to weather, id like to do much more exposure on this. I guess ill add to it next year. The 1hr subs let me get pretty deep anyway, albeit noisily for the total exposure time available.

Big image here (https://fredsastro.smugmug.com/Photography/Astrophotography-1/i-g4Z657b/A).

RCW58, an E type nebula, is a Wolf Rayet Bubble formed by the ejecta from WR 40, the central star in the image.

Taken on my RCOS 10" RC Scope at f9, SBIG STXL6303E Camera and PME mount at itelescopes Siding Spring Observatory.
Processed with CCDstack, Star Tools and Photoshop. 21 hrs Total exposure time with 3nm Narrowband filters. Ha and OIII, all 60 min subs. RGB stars.

Cheers
Fred

Fabulously deep. I imaged this one a couple of times. It's pretty faint.

I see you caught some O111 around the edges.

Greg.

Very impressive! Congrats on having the patience and dedication to get 21 hours of integration time - the result is well worth it.

Cheers,

Remarkably deep. You'd also need a seriously larger 'scope in Chile' to get a better result, even then it's a diminishing return. Nice one

Thanks Greg, JA, Steve, Peter, David and Marc for your positive comments.

I cant take all the credit for the depth, I suspect imaging in dark skies at Siding Spring with a hi QE NABG cam and a few other things might've helped. Everything sort of counts in the last mile.

Love it! WR star emissions and planetary nebula fascinate me, and out of reach at my current FL. Love seeing shots of them! Great job, keep it up!
