What up space-nerds!? :P

Guys, my laser collimator's laser is too fat! Are there any laser collimators where the laser is like a pin point? I'm finding it difficult to perfectly collimate this laser collimator because the beam is just too thick. And it's kinda like a straight line, instead of a dot. Kind of like a thick | , only smaller.

You could try covering the exit hole with a piece of silver tape and put a pinhole in it that is exactly centered..otherwise I'd leave it as it is. The bar pattern does make it easier to gauge the centre mark on the primary mirror plus when you're collimating the laser itself...you'll find it easier to mark the bar pattern on the wall when rotating the laser 180 degrees to check it's alignment...the beam pattern size from my laser measures 1 cm wide from a distance of 4 metres and looks like an edge-on spiral galaxy..
Hope this helps..
Cheers!

Hmmm....ok. I'll give it a go tonight.

Thanks.
