A 60 minute animation of the southern limb and it's proms taken from 10:03 to 11:03 local time. Just managed to capture this before the clouds rolled in to spoil the fun. There's not a great deal of action but a close look at the proms shows a bit of activity.

Thanks Russell. We haven't seen you posting much recently, hope all is OK. The solar animations are definitely a lucky dip, as you really have no idea what you have captured until after processing. You can only guess which area is likely to have some activity. One hour of captures equals around 200GB so going for longer starts to present storage issues. There are some guys in the US who are doing 5 hrs with 1TB of data. This would give you a better chance of capturing some action. Anyway it's all good fun.

they really are a lucky dip and take a long time to process (and so much storage!!!) - and really hard to know if you've got anything exciting til its completed. thanks guys, yes i've had lots of things going on which haven't been too fun, but things are slowly looking a bit upward again :thumbsup:
