Well, with all the incessant rain in Brisbane, my telescope hasn't seen the dark of night for most of 2022, so I have turned my hand to macro photography.
This is a Paper Wasp (approx.10mm long) lying on its nest alongside our car port. They are not aggressive unless you are clumsy and hit the nest with the Speedlite flash. But even then, the two that landed on my arm did not sting me, they just checked me out.:)

Thanks JA and Marc, I appreciate your comments.:)
I was initially feeling a little bit ambivalent about going out in the drizzle to try and get a shot, but I'm so glad that I did, as the raindrops have added to the interest in the shot.:)

Great macro shots Dennis. I got stung on the hand by one of these and ended up on a course of antibiotics.

Thanks Peter and so sorry to hear of the side effects of the stings.:(
These particular "long or stick nest" Paper Wasps are not at all aggressive. They are approx. 10mm long and much smaller than some of the larger, more aggressive ones I have seen, who would almost attack you on sight.

Don't see that everyday. Stunning work!
