Electric bike recommendation

Many of the identical folding ebikes come from the same factory, retailers order them branded for them and they are shipped world wide. That same ebike is sold in Australia by Kogan. Importantly, with these budget bikes, is availability of parts down the track, as most cycle shops do not like servicing them (because there is no margin in it).
Some major ebike brands like Leitner, do provide spare parts for years after sale, but obviously cannot provide direct service. These bikes are not hard to service but you need to understand them to do so, and not all use the same battery, or battery management system. I highly recommend the purchase of ebikes which have a walk mode function, or walk speed throttle: many cheap ones do not have this feature, which i consider important for starting out. Pedal Assist in Australia has restrictions for road or cycle way use. Yes many can be modified for high speed operation, but the assumption is private property use only.
As always a good helmet is important, and you will eventually fall.

Just hope i don't have any problems down the line .
But in saying that I do feel OK with this manufacturer as there quality control is better overall .

That bike in the photo has no drive chain installed for a start ;)

I've got a couple of mountain bikes with small 2- stroke motors , great fun but illegal on the road .

One of the many works in progress......Delayed due to opting to change to toothed belt drive rather than chain. Arrived some weeks ago, so have to get into it I s'pose :question:

Yes I understand ' but easier to go with the original design , my advice is to make sure the power chain drive is exactly lined up to both sprockets this
is critical .

That bike is not suitable for an off road powered unit . ;)

Got the belt/pulleys/tensioner from the manufacturer of the original unit, a quick check looks like a straightforward conversion. As for off-road, hopefully it will never leave the road :eyepop: Signwriting the tank "Mulga Bill". All in good fun out here in the scrub.
