Determined to get a few Northern galaxies in before the season closes, despite the persistent cloudy/misty conditions here.

After imaging the Antennae galaxies managed a clearish 37 minutes on M83 with the CFF140, with the same gear as used in my recent M100 posting, before it hid behind a tall tree to my west. Image is cropped but still a bit grungy and of course a bit noisy.

Also had a go at identifying the clearer galaxies around my earlier posted M100. See if the labels will read in this shrunken image.

If I have some wrong feel free to correct me and also chime in if you spot some problems that I may have missed with the image.

Hi Ross.

Good effort.

Of course more integration time is needed but you have to start somewhere!

Try noise reduction in the linear phase (after stacking).

You can also use cropping to centre the target.

Well done

Great shots! I think I just have missed the original m100 image you posted but that’s a top shot too of a very interesting field.

Thanks a lot David and Peter. I will try different noise reduction strategies.
Closer NSW and my ACT remain very clouded so I think I may not be getting any more time on the low Northern galaxy targets this year but M83 should get another go in June along with all winters nebula.
