5th May. Some nice sunspots in the southern hemisphere of the sun today. I had to wait till there was a gap in the clouds to take this image at 540 nm. Single exposure with Canon 550d camera attached to a 81 mm WO refractor. Active region 3004 appears to be increasing in size and magnetic complexity .. it has produced a few C and M class flares so far.
Thanks for viewing.
A very nice shot of an active solar Southern Hemisphere John. That spot you mention may be gearing up for a big blast. Let’s hope so when the Sun is up and the sky is clear.
Cheers.

Very nice image , AR3004 has grown quite quickly and 3006 has been letting off some M class flares, so all are worth watching.

Great image John. As all have commented, 3004 definitely has been one to watch develop.
