Hi

Here is an image of NGC 3621 taken from Melbourne.
About 4.5hrs total exposure through a GSO RC14 + ZWO ASI2600MC OSC camera + EQ8 mount.

I started this with about an hour and a half of data in February & then just recently added the extra three hours.
The seeing has been better recently going between 1.5 and 2.2" fwhm.

Unfortunately the extra 3 hrs hasn't meant going much deeper with the image, although more detail is showing up in the galaxy core.
All data processed with APP.

Full frame at 50% full size (heavily compressed) attached, or better version here:

Your scope has done well Maurice for 4.5hrs.
Certainly grabs a lot of photons!

Make sure you keep that data safe and keep adding to it.

Some of the best work shown here has taken years!

Well done

Very nice Maurice, I particularly like the distant, almost "mini" NGC 1300 to the left ...wonder what the Milky Way would look like in an image taken from a planet in there...?

Wonderful shot and well processed! Lots of colour and detail revealed in the core and some interesting background fuzzies as well. Well done!

beautiful work. That light bucket sure got you great resolution. Really well processed too.

Nice job Maurice,
it's an interesting galaxy about the same size as our Milky Way:

At mag 10 from Melbourne it's remarkable for you to pick it up so well.

Great detail in the core.:thumbsup:

To get the faint outer regions of this one I suspect you need a darker sky than Melbourne can offer....

Thanks for the nice comments everyone.

It is a challenge from suburban skies to image the extent of this object.
I might do as Peter suggested & keep the data on this one going for a few years & see what pops out in the end.

thanks again
