My wife says I spend too much time on the Internet. While this is probably true, I have replaced much of my 'wasted' time with time spent on the IIS forums.
I've tried to explain that this lets me communicate with other astronomers all round the country and that you can make friends online that you might never meet otherwise, but she's not completely convinced...
I should say that she encourages me whole-heartedly in my hobby. She just doesn't get why I have to be online when I'm not out observing.
Sound familiar to anyone??? :D

Only one solution. Laptop with wireless card and you do all your IIS while outside pretending to be observing?
Yep, sounds very familiar.......
......or while you do the dishes. :D

While I am in forums (Astro, Rugby League, etc), Cheryl is on the lappy in her forums, and chatting all around the world too. We sit about 10 feet from each other on different pooters, but still talk to each other, share what we are chatting about etc. We show each other different sites, and sometimes for the stupidity and fun of it we talk to each other online
So, no problems here about being in forums
No problems here, Kee reckons that at least she knows where I am most of the time.
Cheers

LOL! That's the same here from Jenny. I keep telling her - choose between an obsession with astronomy or being a "down at the pub with the boys" type of bloke.....
She says astronomy's fine.:)

Not really too much hassle from she who must be obeyed...and when it is brought up, we generally agree it is the "lessor of two weevils" (bad family inside joke)...
Mostly she is just glad that I finally have some "friends" outside of work!

My dog howls a lot due to lack of attention. But I just wear earplugs.
