Another sunny morning so grabbed these images before the clouds rolled in. AR 2993, 2994, 2995 and 2996 remain very impressive regions.

The proms on the eastern limb were very faint and difficult to capture. This is our best shot.

Coincidentally, I was imaging the Sun close up yesterday, at almost the same time as yourselves, aiming for the same framing. My closeup video run is timed at 10.57am! My attached image shows how close we were. This was taken with a 5" MaK Cas and ASI385 through a DIY Baader white light filter..

Your image looks a fraction sharper and more detailed than mine.

Wow, that's amazing. You'd swear it was the same sun :) It would have been hard to achieve this if we'd been trying. The framing & FOV is that close! BTW great image Steve.
