Well done, Chris!
Pity about the hole in the middle but I know what it's like!;) You get that!
Have another go at the photomerge on PS, but select "Advanced Blending" (i think it's on the RHS toolbar somewhere). That should help to get rid of the visible joins between images.

Excellent advice Al. Thanks!
I'm currently outside getting the rest....
I did it all manually, each segment to a layer so I could shift them around, and completely forgot about photomerging.
Cheers :)

Actually at a closer look, it looks like the image brightness is varying from image to image a bit too. If PS can't handle it, try throwing them in autostitch and see how it comes out - it seems to handle brightness/exposure variations a bit better.
I'm not sure if you adjusted the exposure between captures (its a good idea not to for mosaics - but you probably know that!;)) or if transparency varied (high thin cloud maybe???).
Great first effort though!

Yep - high cloud is my biggest problem Al. I'm desperately trying to find holes that I can shoot through. It's been this way for days - and I'm getting tired of waiting I guess. LOL! I suppose that I'll set it all up and do a consistent run on the first really clear night. Hopefully that'll be the weekend.
Thanks for all your help Al :)
Cheers

Nice one Chris. moonage mosaics are a real challenge, especially getting the blending right. I'll go along with Al. Try autostitch (check out the 32 frame ToUcam mosaic here (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=9099&highlight=mosaic)). Some will say it's the lazy way, but then I'm waiting for the first real commercial radio controlled lawn mower (I've already got remote controlled mounts  )

OOoooooh! What a great effort Paul! What a fabulous image.
I'm starting to get my head around Photoshops' photomerge toolset. It's quite cool the way it works. I still have to re-shoot everything because I'm getting holes all over the place. I guess that I just need a good, long and clear night.
Roll on the weekend......:D
Cheers
Chris
