+61 Numbers

Hi Guys, just out of interest and the fact that i am not that Phone savvy, if some one tells you their mobile phone number is +61 412 341 700 do i just skip the +61 and call it 0412 341 700 :shrug:

This is not the correct number, but wanted to know what one dose with the +61.

For use within Australia no need to have the country designator code +61 so leave it out for domestic calls

Within Australia, you just replace +61 with 0.

If you were overseas you would dial with +61.

The +61 4xx… form works from anywhere – Australia and abroad. The 04xx… form only works from within Australia. If you ever plan to take your phone on an overseas trip it might we worthwhile standardising the phone numbers in your phone book/contacts app to the +61 form, otherwise it doesn’t matter.
