Hi all,
It has been months since I've been able to get the telescope out but there was a rare clear night in Canberra early this week (without a full moon) so I was determined to take advantage of it. Even though it was a week night I stayed up until well after 3am to make the most of the clear skies! This is a cropped view of the Carina Neb with η Carinae, Keyhole Neb, and some interesting gas/dust formations. I wish I had the focal length to capture this view natively but instead it's a crop of a drizzled integration so it's a bit soft. It was only 2 1/2 hours of data but luckily it's a bright part of the sky. I acquired 2 hours of Ha on the night but it didn't seem to add much to the image during processing so I left it out. On the next clear night I hope to get some very short exposures and do an HDR combination to show the Homunculus surrounding η Carinae. There is a bigger version on Astrobin (https://www.astrobin.com/full/t4maui/0/) for anyone interested.
