I had a message this morning from Alex, advising that his two carers (his Ex and daughter) had tested positive Covid. As a result Alex has moved to his Van and is isolating. The Van site does not allow communications via phone or internet, so he will not be in touch while there.

Glen,
Thanks for letting us know
It’s been nice to have him back on board
Hopefully his Carers get over it by late next week
My wife had it 3 weeks ago whilst we were down south at our getaway
Lived in 2 separate parts of the house for 2 weeks ( lucky we have 2 bathrooms and separate living spaces ) thankfully I didn’t get it. She was pretty crook the first 4 or 5 days, come good on day 9 then a another test day 10 , all clear

Reception is worse than ever but Glen told me he made this post so I thought when I could to provide details...I left the van to make sure this gets out and my track is terrible ..when the dust settles I really need to get some blue metal on it..and that is going to cost an arm and a leg...but having a good escape road could be a life and death thing if you think of it..like an ambulance could not get to me at the moment...

My carers are covid positive..at least that is what they told me..and suggested I leave and stay in the van..which is my actual home but minor health issues and the fact my track threatens not to let me leave...has caused me to stay at the main house recently..so I thought to get back here with enough food and meds not to worry if indeed I cant get out... anyways I can only really go to Tabulam as the highway is still blocked due to a land slide..I do have enough clear ground for a helicopter to get me in a medical emergency I just realised..so maybe dont waste money on a good track.

So far I have had no signs that I may have covid.

Both my carers were vaxcinated so hopefully they will be better off than the poor devils who did not get vacinated.

I received my booster only a couple of weeks ago so I have taken all the sensible precautions that I can.

But it is really nice in the van after having done so much work I can now enjoy it..

I have my guitars in one cupboard with my amp so to play I just open the cupboard door switch on the amp and blast away.

I am so lucky to be so talented and not let it go to my head:lol:.

I have my microscopes set up on the new computer bench and I have been conducting ground breaking research earlier today;)

And the addition of the food preparation bench has changed everything.. I can prepare decent meals with plenty of space..that was the only drawback but now I have more than enough space ...

The electric system is now working perfectly...I have one fridge in the van and another larger one in the observatory to use the excess power I have there ...my shower although outside works a treat and I have a gently sloping ramp and a hand rail to my door..it really is sheer luxury.

All my efforts to provide a good water supply have paid off and I have enough drinking water to last me until I die..

I met a black snake yesterday while traveling to the observatory but he did not stay..I feel bad that I must have frightened him..or her..

I have a couple of mag pies who have worked out there is a sucker with food in the van and a wallaby who is taken with the hamock...sniffs it again and again..from the ground..he is not laying in it.

I am so very very lucky to have sidestepped another life threatening problem.

It is so good I have the guitars and microscopes as I cant see any astronomy happening for a while.

Thank you gentlemen.
I am still OK they seem worse...not serious I am told just stay at the van for my safety,..well I had to go up as I forgot my multi meter and I cant get thru a single day with out it so I got to see the chooks who I miss so much..they are so interesting and each have their little personalities...so pulled guitar to bits and fixed something to stay active.
The magpies have not left but I have not been able to notice any personality traints yet.
Here are some photos of little creatures that hang around here.
I have a spot where I am getting the net a little so that is great.

Alex,
Nice to have the local native wildlife pay a visit to your place, makes your day doesn’t it !!
Thanks for sharing those great photos
Down South at my getaway place we’ve had all sorts of wildlife pay a visit or pass through , echidnas, blue tongues , dragon lizards , possums galore at night , Wattle birds, new Holland honey eaters , rainbow lorikeets galore, king parrots , bower birds, pee wee’s , Maggie’s , eastern and crimson rosellas and so on .......
Extremely fortunate to be able to escape the hustle and bustle of Sydney’s southern suburbs and enjoy the peace and tranquillity down south , oh and the Bortle 3 skies too
Cheers
Martin

Because of my covid contact I must not go anywhere until Thursday but have been able to make a phone appointment to talk to my doctor ... My opiate meds run out on Wednesday ... I dont like the thought of possible withdrawal...fortunately the highway has one lane open so I can get to the Pharmacy...thank goodness things have fallen into place yet again.
