Selling my much loved Vixen FL102S fluorite refractor. Well cared for as you would expect. I have made a number of recent purchases and can not justify one more without selling something (so I have been told).

Here is a link with information about the telescope:http://www.company7.com/vixen/telescopes/vixen102fl.html

Without a doubt this scope has produced the best planetary views I have ever experienced. The scope includes an upgraded focuser for coarse and fine focus. Also included is a straight through finder scope and 50 mm correct image finder scope, as well as my best planetary eyepieces I used with this scope: 4mm vixen lanthanum, Japanese made Celestron 6mm ortho and a tele vue 8mm plossl. The 8 mm tele vue is particularly good with this scope.

The only imaging I do is astrometric measurements of asteroids and comets using larger instruments so I have never used the scope for imaging however a quick search of astrobin shows that some are using this scope for imaging:https://www.astrobin.com/search/?q=Vixen%20FL102S

Asking price: $1800

Pick Up: Sydney, Penrith, Katoomba

Postage and Insurance to be paid by buyer.

Would prefer pick up for this scope.

Any chance you still have the original Vixen focuser?

If Brad does, I'll take the GSO please (assuming it's the M90 thread)!

Can’t make decisions on buying in the absence of answers ;)

Sorry about the slow response. I am away at the moment with more limited internet access.

The original focuser is a question quite a few people have asked questions about.

I know that I have it ( there is no way I would throw it out) however I after I replaced the focuser I moved house so it is buried somewhere in my garage in one of many many boxes. It would take a while to find. But if someone wants to buy before I find it I can post it a later date when I find it. It does not have fine focus but I understand the desire to have it in all original condition (as well as the updated focuser). I will start looking when I get back home on Tuesday.
