I have had problems trying to remove tight extension spacers and have resorted to using a small oil filter removal tool with a rubber strap.
Any recommendations on a suitable lubricant to minimise the aluminium threads from galling.
The use of shoe polish has been suggested on another forum.
Thoughts/suggestions?

Alex,
I've used and recommended the boot polish solution for the past 40 years.
It works!

Graphite powder, a little on your tip of your finger rubbed on threads goes along way. No binding

I have used standard automotive zinc anti-seize paste, which comes in a stick. There was another thread that dealt with binding extensions just recently, Search will find it for you.
I have used off tape to remove seized extension sections, wrap them in different directions on each of the extensions and simply twist, works every time.
I will add that the use of anti-seize paste, or graphite, can result in tiny specs collection optics. Maje sure you always use a puffer bulb to blow the optics clean.
All of the above and/or some dry lube.

Thanks everyone for your input. I'm going to give Kiwi Parade Gloss first go. It worked on my army boots a life time ago. Hopefully it will work on my extension spacers as well.
Cheers.
I like a little Super Lube Synthetic Grease (comes in a tube), I use it everywhere on all surfaces, never causes proplems, never gunges or sticks ans a little goes a long way, grphite powder is good but usually messy to control application and always kept blackening my hands every time I used the device.

Hi all
On the subject of this thread (pun intended), can anyone advise if the following would work long term? No outgassing etc, no dripping?
I want to connect various threads together and ensure they don't bind.
I have all of these at home. Would prefer to use something here, but if I need to buy something, so be it.

Based on forty years experience I found a light smear of Boot Polish did the job with no negative effects.
I would try that first......

Ha, thanks Ken… except I don’t have boot polish. Or at least the stuff I think I have is the liquid that sponges on.
I can’t remember the last time I polished my shoes!!
