This is from the house looking at the intersection of our road and the highway...and it seems every bridge around here is under...Lismore is experiencing what may be record flooding but certainly flooding.

The rain radar map suggesting we are about to get heavy rain..it has been raining non stop since this time yesterday at least.

Yea it is pretty bad and sad i might add, we here in Warrnambool have had 6mm, bugger all, in the last 12 weeks, we are so dry down here.

The news tonight was reporting 774mm of rain in Lismore in 24hrs. The SES and local boat owners are conducting hundreds of rescues. Stay safe folks.

This is not good, you would have to wonder where all this water comes from, "yea I know it is the sky", just a statement.
It is so sad that so many are now again homeless and businesses have gone under, excuse the pun, and all this after two years of Pandemic heartache.

The weather system was forecasted to be over Canberra last weekend. Its not due now till Wednesday, BOM normally don't miss like this, so it will be interesting to hear why it all stalled and didn't move down as expected.

Some insane numbers, I think Wivenhoe put on 160,000 gigalitres from Friday to Sunday. One hundred and sixty trillion litres in one catchment area in little more than 48hours is not comprehensible.

Yeah, that's a lot of liquid. Wivenhoe Dam has a catchment area of over 7000km2, which is a bloody big area, and was also taking some of the release from Somerset Dam from Thursday onwards.

Our region is cut off not only by water but by fallen trees and landslides.
I read on Facebook this morning a group are setting out from Drake with chainsaws to make a " provision run" to Tenterfield. There are trees over the roads everywhere.
But it was wonderful to wake up today and find no rain.
Even Casino CBD and surrounds has been flooded with shops getting about a foot of water.. not much but still does a lot if damage...we are hoping that the landslides are cleared by tomorrow to go in and help tidy the Salvation Army shop in Casino which was flooded ... I could not believe that it got flooded. Carpet vendors will be busy. It is funny not hearing traffic on the highway or down our road....however the lake at the end of our road seems to have gone.
I was lucky, I left my van cause I thought I would get trapped, and came up to the main house...but not being able to charge the batteries or pump out my boat on the dam I thought the batteries would get ruined and the boat would sink. Happily somehow the panels git a little power I guess as the fridge was ok and so were the batteries. The dam came up so far the overflow could not cope and water covered the jetty and happily the boat sunk on top of the jetty which is as lucky as you can get...and no trees down cutting my track ... I keep a chainsaw in my little white car but not that capable these days.

Not only Brisbane Glen the entire Northern Rivers.Levels not see by any of the Octogenarians I have talked to.In my mothers town Brunswick Heads flooding not seen in my 56 years there.I was fortunate only 60mm through a shed.People were in utter shock they had lost everything for some the second time in only a short time frame.Emergency services were overwhelmed lucky for all the unsung rescuers and helpers who used their own resources to help.
The government who ever they are need to give serious thought to all these natural disasters and work on quicker mobilisation of all our services.
Take care everyone and from my personal viewing in the last few days it is a bad situation for all those impacted.
