Thought I’d throw some crops of my Carina images for a closer view of gas and dust etc...
The 2600MC never ceases to inspire ( under an hour of data )
Comments welcome
Thanks
When will the rain ever stop on the east coast ......

Love your exposure control on Eta C itself. That star kills images easily, well done, Martin.

Adam,
Thanks
I’ve never had an issue with Star bloat in my images , I guess my set up with the 2600MC and using a newt has its advantages and using the L Extreme filter tends to dampen down the the excessive glare from the brighter stars too, so my set up is a win win
Also Startools has two great modules “Shrink” and Super Structure “Dim Small” you can use to correct your stars ( tighten , dim , merge background colour and so on etc.... )
Thanks again
Cheers
Martin
Nice processing M, good effort.
Looking at my logbook, 22/12/21 was the last time I opened the roof :(

Really nice images there! Clean and detailed and a pleasure to view! Even though it’s such a huge area there is so much going on everywhere you look you could (if the sky allowed) spend so much time just exploring all these little pockets.

Thanks Peter
Nice to hear from you again , I thought you went missing in action
Yes it’s been the worst 6 or so months for weather since I started this hobby back in early 2017. The weather Gurus have forecasted La Niña to bugger off late April early May, so more periodic cloudy weather to come. Although since new year I’ve managed 3 full nights and 2 half nights from the Dome in amongst the gloomy weather.
Cheers M

Thanks Dave,
Carina does have a treasure trove of regions to explore/ image with the mid to large aperture and focal length rigs
Gabriela Mistral being my favourite

Very nice narrowband images. I do feel though that Eta C looks best in LRGB.
Perhaps Ha RGB.

An excellent display of Carina artwork Martin. Makes for a good presentation.
And yes, I'm fed up with the cloudy weather too.

It is a narrowband image Alex, be it OSC Bi colour
L Extreme filter
7 nm Ha
7nm Oiii
Startools Compose
Sii Red
Ha Green
Oiii Blue
I used the colour mapping L+Synthetic L from R (2xG ) B, R ( GB) (GB) ( Bi Colour from OSC DSLR )
Then in Colour I use the SHO matrix presets
A similar process to Hubble Pallete but not quite .......
