In short today's seeing was atrocious but having taken the trouble to set up I took a few images to get some kind of result.

Love the CaK images, don't complain about the seeing or I'll send over the cloud cover we've endured all summer on the east coast.

Very nicely done Gerard! You've got some good detail there - esp considering the conditions!
Thanks Jeff and Russell.Your comments are much appreciated. I’m surprised myself with the outcome of this session as the images presented on the monitor at the time were dancing all over the place. You just don’t know what you’ve got until the final processing step is over.

This is amazing ! Mind sharing how this can be archived? Does this need a dedicated solar telescope like a Coronado or is a Herschel wedge enough, with a filter ?
Sebastian the equipment used was an Orion 80 mm Apochromatic refractor (short focus) a Lunt B600 Calcium CaK filter and a ZWO ASI174 camera. A 2.5 Teleview Powermate was used for the close ups.
