The following survey by the Australasian Dark Sky Alliance (ADSA) may be of interest to those of us who support the reduction of light pollution.

I quote from the Dark Sky Traveller Blog (https://www.darkskytraveller.com.au/post/where-would-dark-sky-traveller-travel?postId=f1eb4364-23de-4602-86e0-d036288c548e).

Everyone who has travelled with Dark Sky Travellers and marvelled at the night sky in Europe, the USA, South Africa, South America or even the Arctic, is aware that Australia has some of the best dark skies in the world. Despite the island continent being relatively inky dark, there are only three places - NSW, Queensland and SA - officially designated as dark sky places by the International Dark-Sky Association.

WHY SO FEW?

The federal Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (DAWE) is also looking at how to conserve, create, and protect Australia’s dark skies. DAWE has contracted the Australasian Dark Sky Alliance (ADSA) to develop a report investigating the most appropriate mechanisms to limit the impacts of light pollution on the natural night-time environment. Dark Sky Travellers Director - Marnie Ogg - will be leading the project.

To help identify ways to make it easy and beneficial to conserve our dark skies please take part in this survey and share it with everyone.

Apparently the public survey doesn't close until 5:00pm Monday the 28th - at least that's what it says when you go to the link.
