After tuning my worm gears last Thursday to minimise some obvious backlash on the EQ6-R mount I managed to get the mount guiding ok at around 1.00am after battling with passing cloud earlier in the evening
Picked a test target in the south east, NGC 3324 Gabriela Mistral Nebula as I hadn’t imaged it for nearly a year.
Still have some work to do on the mount, mainly balancing
NexDome Obs
EQ6-R mount
8” f5 GSO newt
ZWOASI2600MC set in Ascom to highest dynamic range, cooled to -10C
Optolong L Extreme Filter
Baader MPCC coma corrector
30 x 3 minute dithered guided subs
40 x Flats
50 x Bias
Goto and tracking EQMOD and Ascom Stellarium
Framed focused and captured with APT
PHD2 Multistar guiding ( 0.75 to 0.85 arc sec )
Subs reviewed in Astap
Stacked in DSS
Processed in Startools V1.7 Linear data set OSC Narrowband Bi Colour versions in SHO

Comments welcome

Thanks

One thing I've noticed, Martin, is that your stars are even better these days. You've nailed it :)

Nice images

Thanks Greg,
I just snuck part of the Gem cluster in which adds a nice feature to the overall image

Thanks Adam
Appreciate it
Nice tight stars do make a difference in an image regardless of other detail
