I didn't want to sell this camera because it was given to me, but I am trying to rake up some funds to upgrade my telescope. So I am after expressions of interest, to see what people are prepared to pay for such a fine camera.
It comes in a beautiful speciality carrying case, and has a couple of lens, the first is an 18-55mm and the other is a 50mm. All genuine Canon parts of course. It has a 1.0GB hard disk, however I don't have a battery charger, so bring your charger to charge my battery to make sure it all works before you take it away.
I'll keep this thread open for a few weeks so that everyone can make an offer on it, I am in no great hurry (this means I'm not desperate and won't take a silly offer). However I will take a reasonable offer at the end of this expression gathering exercise. I'll get some photographs of the camera soon, it is generally in pristine, first class condition.

Okay, I managed to take a photograph of the camera, it's the worst photo in history and does not do justice to the equipment. The photo is overexposed and makes the black of the camera appear white and powdery, I can assure you it is shiny jet black...now maybe you all understand why I am not going to hang on to any camera, as a photographer I make a great car mechanic
I'll try to organise a better photograph of it soon :P
how many photos have been taken with the camera since new?

No idea, but you can drive over from your Town of Campbells, take it away for a week and try it before you make a generous offer. I don't think a Librarian would nick a blokes camera
Oh, back to your question, It was given to me from a friend, as is and I have never used it because it never came with a battery charger. So I have a dilemma, I went into Parramatta and paid $20.00 for a lens cap (cover) and thought to myself, this genuine Canon stuff is expensive, so I decided against a battery charger and it has sat in my cupboard for 6 months and done nothing except exert gravitational forces on a bench.
I have had one offer from a forum member and told him that I will sell to the highest bidder after a few weeks, because it really isn't any good to me and I am not going to spend more money on it. I really am going to focus on a better telescope and the camera is a diversion.
I will not divulge members bids, I don't want to turn this into an auction, but on the same hand, I do have a low price in my mind which I won't go below. So, over to you Vingo, jump in the car and come and get it :P
you trust librarians?
i am guessing then you want more than $20 for it ;)
let me talk to cheryl.

On advice from several members, it seems a better method for selling this camera is to actually state what the highest offer has been so far and also nominate a closing date, so that other members can counter offer if they choose to.
So the best offer I have had to date is $300.00
The date the sale will close is 1st May.
I will reserve the right to not sell if in my opinion the price is not sufficient.

Why not just put an asking price and if someone wants to buy it for that price, then you'll sell it
Hi Ron,
How about a trade. I have a HP RW6828 i am going to sell as i upgraded to a Dopod 838 Pro. This is one great PDA phone and it even runs pocket stars.
I dont have a charger, but i am assuming the camera is in fine condition and will work a treat when i charge it.
I want to use this for astro-photography, but will need to speed my F10 up. Still is should work fine on the moon and planets?
Regards Paul
too many bills at the mo ron (according to the missus)... have to give it a miss. :(

I would love to get more than $500.00 because it is obviously worth that, how much more is dependant on who wants it bad enough

Hi,
This is definitely a "Auction" with a reserve price, and not "Expressions of Interest" :P if it walks like a duck and talks ,,,,,, you know the rest ;) so why not call it,for what it really is.

Okay, I submit to all your pressure :D I have had several PM's and one person met my price, so he can have it, this takes it back to a first in best dressed scenario.
Therefore consider the item sold.
