The closest many of us will get to doing 400+ km/h

That's surpisingly boring, considering the speed. The Toecutter looked way faster than that.
But then maybe I've just spent too much time of my life driving on the Autobahn...

Try driving a boat then !
160kph in a boat is far more exhilarating than 300kph in a car !!
417kph in a boat

I recall flying a day shuttle flight LHR to MAN in a near empty B747-400...
We wound it up briefly to Mach 0.84 (about 1000kph in round numbers) at which time ATC were scrambling to hand us over to MAN approach and asked us to slow down to a slovenly 250 knots (about 460kph) while they got sorted.
Kill joys :)

I think we were talking about speed on the ground where you can appreciate
the speed, not in the air where most prople have been.

I've done more than 417 KNOTS at 50 feet if that counts... :)
Well, I wasn't flying, Dmitri was :P

Always smile when I see a ground speed in excess of M1.0...shame it's not airspeed, but the small joys of life...
